Resolve to Evolve – 10 Min Meditation | Yoga With Adriene

– Hello everyone and
welcome to Yoga With Adriene. I’m Adriene and this is Benji
and today we have a special meditation for endings
so hop into something comfy and let’s get started. (gentle music) Alright my beautiful friends, come into a nice
comfortable seat. We’re gonna just try
to drop right in today. Honor your time. But also we’re going to get
started right away because I think that sometimes we think
we have to have everything perfect or everything done
or everything in place or the right
experience to meditate. And the truth is you have the
tools and everything you need to meditate anytime. Within reason because then I
get these YouTube comments, “Well, you wouldn’t
really be able to meditate “if you were sky diving.” But hopefully you
understand what I’m saying. That we don’t really
need a lot to meditate. You just need the
willingness and the commitment, the dedication to practice. So that’s all
we’re gonna do today. I hope that whatever you’re
bringing to the meditation today you can bring it fully. So you don’t have to be
again in the perfect mindset. Just come as you are
and when you’re ready I’ll invite you to sit up nice and tall in whatever
comfortable seat feels good. And then just take a second to
imagine the spine from the real bottom base where your coccyx is all the way up to the tip top of the head, the crown. And again, just a reminder,
you don’t have to have the perfect focused environment. If there’s stuff going on
around you or if you are feeling emotional or if
you’re just like, “Oh, maybe I should
do a workout instead.” Man, just trust. Can you? Like just trust maybe that this,
you choosing this video and getting this far into this video
already is a sign that maybe you need this video. So, close your eyes. And essentially together
we’re making an effort to just accept and agree that
everything is as it should be. Allow your hands to
rest wherever feels good. Maybe gently on the legs. Maybe one hand on a loved one who might be
sitting next to you. Maybe you can rest them in your
lap or you’re also if you’re already feeling fussy in
the back welcome to take this meditation lying on your back. And with the eyes closed,
together we’ll take a deep breath in through the nose and nice and easy
just empty it out through the nose or mouth. And continue to breathe, noticing the quality
of your breath. Whatever it may be. And best you can, allow your
body to come into stillness. So the breath moves,
but we hold still. Then notice where your thoughts
go and return to the action of slowing your breath down. Today’s session
is beginner friendly but it’s also advanced. It will be
different for everyone. Just as your practice of
meditation will be different every single time you show up. Your job is to stick with it. To do your best and
find what feels good. Find your way to good. Just continuing to
slow the breath down. And then taking a moment to
consider our theme. Seeing if you
might be open to honoring endings. Even if an ending is sad or hard or as many of
us practicing here today, it’s the end of the year when this video’s
coming out live. There’s a lot of pressure. Whether it’s for
New Year’s Eve plans, something like that
or maybe a little deeper. Scattered brain with a
desire to set clear intentions. Whatever has brought
you to this practice, whatever ending you are
experiencing the invitation today is to see if
you can honor the ending. Which is huge. Honoring the ending. Holy cow. And it doesn’t mean
that we’re not allowing our feelings of grief or confusion or again,
scatter brained. In fact we do honor those while we consider
what it means to honor the ending but we just
don’t honor those feelings. We see if we can evolve. We resolve to evolve. Honoring the ending. And the last little bit I will
say or share is the beauty of endings is within every ending
is a new beginning so that can be a little motivator for the practice of
honoring an ending. Honoring the ending. Take a deep breath in. Relax your shoulders. And simply
residing with the breath. Slow inhalations. And slow exhalations. Very gently begin to deepen your
breath and bring your awareness back to your body. Back to the room around you or the environment around you and very slowly you
can blink the eyes open. In every ending
is a new beginning. Remember and practice. I love you guys so much. Thank you for your time. Keep breathing. You just did a meditation. So if you’re new to meditation,
keep up the good work and you know I’m gonna be
here to assist you any day, any time around
the clock here on Yoga With Adriene channel. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to
the YouTube channel. It’s the best way to
support this ongoing free yoga. And I appreciate everyone who

family and people on the street. Love you guys so much. Namaste. (gentle music)

  1. Our last video of 2018! Wishing you a most wonderful transition into 2019. I hope you will join me and people all across the globe for Dedicate! www.dedicate30days.com

All you need for today's mediation practice is your breath and the loving reminder that in every ending is also a new beginning. Enjoy!

  2. Love that Benji is so chill. ‘Hooman thinks people are here for her. They’re here for me’

  3. wow! this was needed! No matter what's going on I always find myself coming back to meditation/yoga. There's a comfort in knowing we're all here together. All the love and light to everyone practising <3

  4. You’ve grown so much on YouTube since I first started following you years ago! I’m so proud. You’re the best!

  5. Love this meditation, it was exactly what I needed today(somehow it always is)Thank you for posting this Adrienne;you rock! Namaste!!

  6. My daughter invited me to do the Dedicate 30 day yoga practice and I did it every day! I found this meditation this morning for my daily meditation practice – PERFECT! Today is an ending in my Mother Journey as my daughter is moving away for a 6 month job assignment. Realizing she is doing what I raised her to do – find her own life and live it! But it is an ending and beginning for me also, shifting from Mother of a dependent child to Mother of an independent adult, a different experience for me – much deeper than when sending her off to college.
Thank you for this meditation, it is added to my playlist ❤️ (I have one more child currently a freshman in college, so I will use this regularly!)

  7. 🎶 “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” 🎶

  8. This couldn't have come to me in a more needed way. "In every ending there's a new beginning". I hope these words resonate. Thank you.

  9. I love you so much Adriene. Thank you for becoming the friend I need, all the time. Thank you for sharing your positive energy

  10. That was lovely, thank you 🙏🏻 Was also nice to hear the heartbeat 💗 in the background 😊

  11. That was great, thank you! I hope you will do a 30 day meditation challenge one day, that would be so good <3

  12. Thanks Adriene! You're so right, I really did need this video today. Feel I'm learning and evolving so much since taking your 30 day kick start to begin this year. Haven't had a day without yoga since. Can't imagine being without it now!

  13. Exactly what I needed. Thank you so so much. Honestly your videos are a huge part of my life now and you have helped me so much. I don't know what to say.

  14. Did this meditation for 2nd time today. Really hit home today in my car, I lost my Brother Thursday night and haven't done a yoga practice since. This meditation headed the ache in my new hollow spot.

  15. I would love more meditation videos from you. I feel annoyed by most guided meditations because I find them too asmr-y, but your words and style always calms me without making me roll my eyes.

  16. Oh Adriene, I am grateful to you for this wonderful meditation. I can really feel the connection of your heart to mine. Kindly take care. Namaste!

  17. I thought of your mantra "Find What Feels Good" towards the end of this video. I try to promote Yoga as much as I can to anyone, everyone and more often than not, the people who I actually think may need it. Some do not take my advice and it is clear that they would love it…for that I honour and trust that they may not think that trying something new is their version of finding what feels good!
My version of Find What Feels Good comes in many forms, and a huge pillar in that mix, standing tall and bright, is Yoga, mainly, your Yoga YouTube Practice.
    So, as always, thank you<3

  18. <3 more meditation videos pleasseee <3 or a 30 day or one week meditation challenge <3

  19. Thank you for this. Felt like I needed a friend to medidate today and this video was helpful.

  20. I dont meditate enough, when I do your one of the practicers that i turn to and everytime I do, there's always a tear in my eye during the session. Your an angel

  21. This is a great video. I would love if you posted meditation videos more often. I am going through some anxiety challenges recently and am trying to meditate each night in addition to regular yoga with your videos. I really like your meditation videos more than other meditation videos on youtube – you have such a nice calm energy.

  22. This is my absolute favorite meditation practice Adriene! It gets me good every time, I remember the first time I did this practice. It resonates with me so much still. Love you girly!

  23. Sorry Adriene, but you talk too much. I do your videos several times a week, and love them. But for meditation there's just too much chattering here.

  24. so so good! I'm watching this much later than New Years and didn't even realize it was a meditation for endings, but it just so happens that I am in a season of ends as my first year of college comes to an end so this was so amazing! Thank you Adriene for bringing the light. Namaste!

  25. My first love and I broke up just 3 days ago and this meditation has been the most amazing support. Thank you Adriene. Thank you!

  26. Refreshing to see that the Disney gestapo didn't make you blur out their IP. Love you and what you do greatly, Thank you

  27. Wow, thank you for this. I just found you and started doing the 30 Days of Yoga. I was scrolling through and watching some of your other videos and came across this one. 2019 has been very unkind. It started in January when we lost our 8 yr old pug to cancer. Several weeks later we lost a best friend to leukemia. He was 39. My dad was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer a few days before. Several weeks after that my father in law entered into hospice and died. My dad passed on April 2nd- it was his 70th birthday. We have one pug left and she has been sick on and off and I am literally waiting for the other foot to drop. I'm so afraid of losing her that I find myself waking in the night to check and see if she's breathing (if I can't see her). I was obviously brought to this meditation by some higher power. Honoring endings….oh my, so powerful. After watching so many loved ones transition in the past few months, I was forced to honor endings. Endings that I was not ready for. This brought it all home and gave me so much relief. Resolve to Evolve – I think this will be my mantra going forward.

  28. Thank you so much, Adriene. I have been growing and healing with your videos for a little over a year now. Whenever I am feeling lonely, unmotivated, or less alive, I invite your presence and you always help exactly how I need you to in that moment. Thank you for sharing your love and time with us. I appreciate all that you do.

  29. Just completed this meditation, THANK YOU ADRIENE 🙏❤️

  30. Rough week I needed this session at least. Thank you so much 😘

  31. Thank you Adriene. When I opened my YouTube app, this was the #1 video on my homepage. And I felt it was a sign for me to do the video.
Shed a few tears when you said, “Honor endings in your life.” Recently, I’ve been going thru some things where people just got up and left me.
The video reminded me that I should acknowledge what happened and move on.
    Namaste 🙏

  32. It’s been a hot, stuffy, polluted, busy, hard day in London today. My head was exploding with horrible headache entire day. I could not wait to get home and do one of Adriene’s meditation videos. I chose this one tonight – and oh boy did I escape from this cluttering headache. Relaxed and fell asleep 💤 🙏🏻

  33. I needed this! Thank you Adriene ❤️ I have my dog Fiona sleeping beside me! 😂

  34. It's my first ever meditation and i feel a little purified after this. Thank you

  35. i meditated today for the first time. and i am really proud of myself. i don't say i was the best, i mean it's my first time meditating. it really helped me. i suffer from mental illness and i am never calm, so this is actually my first time being calm in my soul. thank you! 🙏🏻❤️☁️

  36. To a very very beautiful woman I really that helps my ❤️ my mind Marsha rounding‘s and make me feel like I want to just continue my journey with you forever I love you Love always. 37. Feel instantly relieved in my chaotic brain. I have downloaded this video. I resolve to do this every day

  38. Thank you. I came into this video as a way to relax before bed but when you brought up endings it really helped me reflect on the last few pretty rough months I’ve had. As you said, with an ending comes a new beginning. Namaste.

  47. Here for the RECLAIM YOUR CENTER yoga retreat! Much needed! I didn't know I needed this until after

  48. I am in tears. You are such a delightful helper and healer, and your kindness is immeasurable inspiration. I never regret spending my time with you, myself, and all supporters of YWA. You make what feels impossible come rather easily, and I resolve to practice inner and outer kindness while tending to a daily routine of yoga and meditation. I have extraordinary respect and gratitude toward you, Adriene. In Love and Light. Namaste.

  49. My guardian angel Adriene and Benji you’re special in my heart Love always🌹🌹🌹

  50. My world was flipped upside down 2 years ago. Everything I thought was my "life" just disintegrated in minutes. I have had the awesome experience of knowing yoga since 13. Meditation. And alot of fitness. It wasn't working and I searched and found you. Then yoga was so different. I know I'm a late bloomer on this meditation.
But I had to find a way to let go, and do this with an honest heart. I hope you know. You saved my life. I love kula. And I love you! I'm never going to stop thanking you. I'm Eternally Grateful. ♡♡♡♡

  51. I came across this video again after months in the perfect moment. I just felt I needed a simple meditation to recenter me after recently moving to a completely different city. I cried when you brought up endings and I just wanted to thank you for creating this beautiful community that I constantly feel so safe and held in

  52. Hi Adriene! I love your yoga videos, and I'm so excited you've started releasing meditation videos too! It is my favorite new way to start my day, with a quick 5-10 minutes meditating. Could you do a meditation video focusing on gratitude? Thank you!

  53. Yay!! I did it! Mediation & yoga is going to be the way I cultivate my new beginning!!

  54. Thank you for all these stunning videos ! Just by spending 20 mins a day with you my heart, body have become much more powerful; kindness has deeply engraved in my soul!

  55. I've been doing some meditations at school between my classes and I've found the most perfect spot; right next to a bush of flowers with butterflies. These meditations have really shown me my worthiness and have brought to light some really beautiful emotions <3 thank you Adriene !
