Hey guys. It’s Bex here. Welcome to my sixth
video in my series of You have Four Minutes for Meditation. Today it’s a special New Year’s
meditation for detox. [Music] We are surrounded by toxins absolutely everywhere.
They’re in the food that we eat, the air that we breathe, even in our relationships and
our daily interactions with other people. So how can meditation help us remove some
of those toxins in our lives? I’m going to show you how in just four minutes.
I set my Gymboss timer for three minutes and then one minute to get us into the meditation
and then one minute to start drawing us back out into the real world. Find a comfortable seat wherever you are.
You can have your legs crossed like me, one leg in front of the other, whatever works
for you. If it helps to sit on a pillow to be more comfortable, then do just that. Start by closing your eyes and just paying
attention to your breath. The breath is going to be super important during this meditation.
So I want you to just watch it, observe, see what it’s doing. Inhale your shoulders up to your ears and
then exhale letting your shoulder blades roll down your back, surrounding your spine. This
will allow you to sit up nice and tall. Today we’re talking about detox. So I want
to play a fun game with you where we imagine our bodies as air purifiers. But instead of
an air purifier, we are a toxin and bad energy purifier. You know how an air purifier draws in the
air, filters out the dirty particles and then blows out clean, pure air into the surrounding
area and that’s what we’re going to do. Now that you’re paying attention to your breath,
I want you to take your palms and turn them up on your knees. To receive the energy around
you, don’t be afraid of bad energy because we’re going to turn it into good. With each breath, I want you to imagine that
you’re absorbing all of the energy around you. Don’t worry if it’s bad or good, if it’s
light or heavy because we are vessels and conduits for miracles. We have all of the power within us to influence
everyone and everything around us. We are radiant and beautiful light. So with our next
inhale, we’re going to take in all of the energy, the air, everything that surrounds
us. As we draw in, it’s becoming cleansed by our light, by our good intention, and as
we exhale, we send that filter to clean and wonderful air, that excited and awesome energy
into the room around us. Continue with your inhale drawing in the energy,
exhaling it pure and wonderful. In with the bad toxic air, out with the positively charged
energy. Your next inhale will open your eyes and it’s jus that easy to take in the bad
and put out the good. Sometimes I use that if I’m in line waiting
in a really long line and everyone is getting annoyed and I could see that the checkout
person is feeling a little bit frustrated. I just try to draw in that bad energy and
send out the good and you would be amazed at how your whole mood can change and maybe
even the moods of the people around you. Maybe you’re smiling as you exhale and that
ignites a spark in someone else’s smile or to feel better. It’s truly an amazing process
meditation. That can change your entire day. It can change your week. It could change your
whole life. So I encourage you to continue it through 2013. Let me know how you did. Let me know about
